What it does
Lower one field wherever another field is high. Subtract works on values, so it is useful for sinking a height field according to a second pattern.
Put the original height in A and the amount to remove in B. To turn a height into ground, subtract Y. To cut out a solid shape instead, use Minimum with that shape negated.
On noise
The same noise before and after this node, seen from above.

In 3D
The same output in relief: each value becomes a height, coloured like the map above. Drag to look around.
Inputs and outputs
| Name | Type | Default | What it changes |
|---|---|---|---|
| Inputs | |||
| A | Density | The density you want to subtract from. | |
| B | Density | The density to take away; higher values lower the result further. | |
| Output | |||
| Output | Density | The first density minus the second at every position. | |
